The 2021 Isuzu D-Max pick-up and MU-X SUV have been launched in India with prices starting at INR 16.98 lakh and INR 32.23 lakh respectively. Both models have been reintroduced after they had been discontinued in April 2020, when the BS6 era began. The new Isuzu pickups derive power from a BS6-compliant 1.9-liter diesel mill which replaces the 2.5-liter oil burner offered earlier. The new 1.9-liter diesel unit makes 161 bhp of peak power and 360Nm of maximum torque. One of the major differences between the Highlander variant and V-Cross trims is that the former is only available in two-wheel drive form and with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The V-Cross variants get a 4WD system and 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.Isuzu has introduced the updated pick-up in three variants - Hi-Lander, V-Cross Z, and V-Cross Z Prestige. The Isuzu D-Max Hi-Lander employs halogen headlights and all-black wing mirrors. It comes with a manual air conditioning system, a 4-speaker audio system, front and rear headrests, a tilt steering wheel, and so on. In terms of safety features, the new D-Max Hi-Lander will feature driver & passenger airbags, underbody bash plate, brake assist, front disc brakes, and seatbelt pre-tensioner with load limiter as standard. The Isuzu V-Cross is equipped with features like auto-leveling LED projector headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and go, auto climate control, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with USB, Bluetooth, Aux-in and DVD compatibility, steering-mounted controls, and a rear parking camera. The V-Cross Z Prestige adds features such as side and curtain airbags, ESC, traction control, hill-descent assist, shift-on-the-fly 4WD, leather seats, 8-speaker sound system, a powered driver’s seat, and auto cruise control.
